How to mark email as SPAM or junk in Outlook?

Every once in a while I will miss email legitimate email from family, friends or others and would find them a couple of days later in the Junk folder in Outlook. How can you prevent valid email from automatically being moved into the junk folder?

Microsoft Outlook’s algorithm on how it identifies email as “junk” is a little inconsistent in my opinion. Sometimes it flags legitimate email as junk from a sender and sometimes it may let a similar email from the same sender through. For the most part, it does a good job of filtering out valid junk mail also referred to as SPAM. Luckily, Microsoft made it very simple to manage junk mail options.

Right-click on the email (in question)
Select Junk
Select one of the following:
Block Sender – always block email from this individual sender
Never Block Sender – never block email from this individual sender
Never Block Sender’s Domain – never block email from this sender’s domain (@me.com)
